What do you like about this time of year? An Autumn Harvest Blog Hop

In Texas, we sort of have four seasons: cool (winter), warm (autumn), hot (spring), and scorching (summer). I look forward to autumn because that is the time we are leaving scorching behind. Granted, it can still be pretty warm, up in the 80’s some days, but I know that the cooler weather of winter is not far off, and it’ll be time to go into hibernation mode upstairs and get work done.

I live in an old, uninsulated house with window a/c units, so in the summer we mostly hover around the window unit to stay cool. It’s often too hot to do anything, so those months can become unproductive.

But in the fall and winter, although we have gas space heaters for heat, all the heat rises upstairs so we hunker down upstairs, the kids watch movies…and I write.

So other than Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday, this is the main reason I like autumn best-the cooler weather starts and I get to write stories with sexy heroes and kick-ass heroines, living grand adventures. That's when I'm happiest.

How about you? What do you like about autumn?

Of course, this is a blog hop and there are prizes involved, but I’d like to take a moment to announce that I have some great news: The Good Daughter is an RTBookReview nominee for best Indie and Self-Pub contemporary of 2012. Woot! AND, if you want to know more about The Good Daughter and why I wrote it, I have an interview up with Anthony Wessel on Digital Book Today. Thank you for checking it out!

Now back to the hop, here’s the prizes. I have a $10 gift card up for grabs.  Be sure to scroll down to see how to enter for these great prizes.

We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. (and each author has a giveaway as well) Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

Now what are those prizes?

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $50 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains 10+ paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!

Be sure to leave your EMAIL in your comment to be eligible to win the GRAND PRIZES. And to be eligible for my prize, please do ONE of the following and let me know in your comment what you did: if you've already done all, let me know! That's all! Good luck and have fun hopping!

It’s hard to say what exactly would be my Go-To Autumn Romance book. When I think real hard about it, I would have to say it has a sexy, strong, determined male that when it comes to love is just lost. Then there has to be a woman who is usually in need of help or needs to know what love and family is. Together they heal each other and love turns out to be their greatest gift. I also love a happy ending at this time of year, usually where the epilogue has them starting their own family to love and cherish. Oh….and definitely HOT loving too!

I love autumn for the bonfires and toasted marshmallows. We also have lots of birthdays. Wine parties are great around a bonfire.
